Kirsten Bouck, is an Interdisciplinary Studies bachelor’s student at the University of Central Florida majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Environmental Studies. She has been working with Citizen Science GIS since January 2019 on Coastal Connections and the Maps, Apps, and Drones Tour. Most recently, Kirsten is working remotely as a NSF REU recipient creating open and freely available geospatial data to address social and environmental disparities related to marine debris and flooding/disaster management in Belize. Her research interests include genetics experimentation with the model organism Drosophila melanogaster, GIS, environmental sustainability and ecological conservation. As an internationally registered yoga teacher, and nutrition coach, Kirsten uses science to create healthier human and environmental ecosystems.
